Gemini Full Moon 2021

This full moon will be exact at 27 degrees of Gemini on 18 December 2021 at 8:35 p.m. PST/ 11:35 p.m. EST/ 19 December 2021 at 4:35 a.m. GMT.

This full moon coincides with the culmination of the past six months’ efforts to communicate, gather information, compare options and make difficult choices.

This lunation marks the end of eclipse season and the strange, murky energy of the past four weeks.

But we are not out of the woods quite yet. This full moon occurs about six hours prior to Venus’ retrograde station, so we transition from one challenging period into another.

This Full Moon's Chart Features:

  • Moon in Gemini’s third decan: Compelled to make tough choices and sort through myriad options and opinions, we are likely to feel uncomfortable, possibly anxious.

  • Moon opposite Sun in Sagittarius’ third decan: The choices we must make are pulling us away from the accomplishment of a goal, creating tension between the two.

  • Gemini’s ruler Mercury in Capricorn’s first decan, trine Uranus: A practical thought process guides our decision-making. This grounded analysis works in harmony with the constant changes and technological developments regarding the environment, economy, food supply and other resources.

  • Mercury copresent with stationing Venus-conjunct-Pluto: At this time we are capable of expressing intense feelings regarding our connections with others, unflinchingly acknowledging difficult truths. Between now and the end of January, however, our ability to actually connect with others will be challenged, and we’ll be more likely to enjoy our time if we use it to connect with ourselves instead.

  • Moon trine Jupiter, Sun sextile ruler Jupiter: Our feelings around making these difficult choices that create tension with accomplishing goals are aided by an optimistic wisdom regarding cutting ties with activities and relationships that bring diminishing returns.

Recommendations:

  1. Consider the work you have done over the past six months regarding communication, gathering information, and comparing data.

  2. Make a decision based on practical, grounded analysis. Your choice should support and respond to the changes in stability and resources detailed above.

  3. Consider what aspects of your research and communication habits you’d like to let go of over the next six months. Some ideas of what you might choose to release: doom-scrolling, online trolling, arguing, binge-watching, endlessly researching options without acting on any of them, gossiping, pretending to be someone you’re not, or talking to people who don’t treat you with kindness and respect.
