Full Moons in General

Full moons coincide with the culmination of the past six months' efforts. They involve tension between what is felt physically or emotionally and what is known or seen.

The sign in which a particular full moon occurs corresponds to a different life area (or "house") for each person depending on one's rising sign. Use the Topics by Rising Sign section at the end of this article to identify which area of your life will be coming to fruition at the time of this full moon.

If you had set intentions six months ago during the new moon in the same sign, use this full moon to take stock of how those plans have worked out. Whether you'd set intentions or not, think about which approaches have served you, and which need to go in order for you to reach your goal. Then plan to drop whatever has proven to hinder your progress over the next six months. Focus on proven, functional approaches.

This Full Moon's Chart Features

  • Moon in Gemini’s second decan*: This full moon coincides with the culmination of our pursuit of information and the contradictions existing within and around us.

  • Moon applying to conjunct retrograde Mars in Gemini’s second decan: We’ll feel very much in touch with our desires and motivations, which may be frustrated, fluctuating, and evolving. We want conflicting things, and we also understand the conflicting desires in others. These internal conflicts can be vulnerable to exploitation.

  • Gemini’s ruler Mercury in Capricorn’s first decan: Desires, motivations and internal contradictions are arising in response to calculated planning and practical knowledge of physical matters.

  • Sun in Sagittarius’ second decan, copresent with Venus in Sagittarius’ third decan: These desires and contradictions stand in contrast to our belief-fueled goals. Connections with others are tested.

  • Sagittarius’ ruler Jupiter in Pisces’ third decan, separating from a conjunction to Neptune: Our belief-fueled goals are responding to an increased search for meaning, which has been clouded by fantasies and misperceptions.

  • Moon, Sun and Mars applying to t-square Neptune: A lack of clarity undermines the desires, internal contradictions, and belief-fueled goals.

  • Moon and Mars applying to trine Saturn, Sun applying to sextile Saturn: Rules, obligations, and boundaries aid and support the desires, internal contradictions, and belief-fueled goals.

TLDR Summary

This full moon has us feeling the tension between our conflicting desires and the beliefs which inspire our goals. We’re in the process of revising our approach to getting what we want, especially when it comes to using words and knowledge to acquire or manipulate physical things. We likely want many things, some of which may be mutually exclusive, such as revolution and peace. And what we feel we want may oppose our beliefs of what is the correct thing to do. But those beliefs may be flawed as well, preventing us from seeing the actual truth. Leaning into what is lawful, realistic, slow and restrained will aid us in resolving the tension between what our goals should be and how we go about achieving them.

Recommendations

  1. Review the past six months, specifically regarding your pursuit of information. Think back to what was happening during the Gemini new moon back in May 2022, and how things have been going since then.

  2. Check the Topics by Rising Sign list below and think about the corresponding house topics as well. Consider the actions you've been taking in these areas of life and whether they are helping you achieve your goals.

  3. Keep what's working, discard the rest. Leave behind activities that aren't bringing you closer to your ideal vision for pursuing information in the life areas specified by the rising sign list. Focus your efforts on those approaches that do work.
