Full Moons in General
Each lunation-- whether it's a new moon, a full moon, or an eclipse-- sets the tone for the next two weeks until the following one. But they also mark important pivot points in our lives, and connect with previous and future lunations six months apart. In other words, a new moon in Aries will be followed six months later by a full moon in Aries, which will be followed by new moon in Aries six months after that and so on.
Full moons coincide with the culmination of the past six months' efforts in a particular area of life. In the two weeks since the previous new moon, energy has been building. At the full moon, that energy is filled to the brim and ready to overflow.
Full moons involve tension between the physical, emotional state represented by the moon and the spotlight of visibility and attention represented by the sun. During a full moon these two luminaries are in polar opposite degrees of the Zodiac, trying to go in opposite directions and causing internal and external conflicts. This tension can be energizing and destabilizing, and the area of life that is impacted by a given full moon may feel as if it is overflowing and ready for some kind of release.
The sign in which a particular full moon occurs corresponds to a different life area (represented by houses in astrological charts) for each person depending on one's rising sign. Use the Topics by Rising Sign section at the end of this article to identify which area of your life will be coming to fruition at the time of this full moon. If you'd like a more personalized approach, a reading will provide more insight than any horoscope app or blog ever could.
If you had set intentions six months ago during the new moon in the same sign, use this full moon to take stock of how those plans have worked out. Whether you'd set intentions or not, think about which approaches you've taken in this area of life have served you, and which need to go in order for you to reach your goals. Then plan to drop whatever has proven to hinder your progress over the next six months.
This Full Moon's Chart Features
Moon in Gemini's third decan*: The need to make a decision between two or more options has reached a critical point.
Gemini's ruler Mercury still retrograde, but will station direct 12 hours later, in Sagittarius' first decan: The decision we must make is in response to our recent review of data and communications that occurred between 7 November 2024 and the date of this full moon. The nature of those data and communications is to compel action more than to convey facts. This is a turning point in that review process, but it is unlikely to be a turn towards clarity quite yet.
Mercury trining retrograde Mars in Leo's first decan and sextiling Pluto and Venus in Aquarius' first decan: The data and communications referenced in the previous bullet are aiding a tug-of-war between two opposing interests. On the one side, there is a slow, unsteady retracing of actions taken in recent months, with an aim to control what an audience sees and to hide backstage shenanigans. On the other end of the tug-of-war rope there is an even slower ongoing revelation of the underworld of society's outcasts, abuses of power in tech spaces, and the intense connections within the realms that lie outside the walls of traditional, hierarchical systems. Another way to look at the two sides is that the archetypal masculine is in tension with the archetypal feminine, but the masculine is somewhat debilitated and the feminine is also in a deeply rough spot, and the two sides are deeply divided. So this turning point with data and communications acts as a mediator between the two sides.
Sun in Sagittarius' third decan, with ruler Jupiter in Gemini's second decan, with Jupiter squaring Saturn and copresent with the Moon: The need to decide between two or more options is spotlit by a focus on what must be done to carry a goal to completion, no matter how grueling the task. But this goal is itself inspired by an interest to expand in so many directions that none of them can receive our full or proper attention and care. And that desire to do everything needs to compromise with the boundaries and rules that separate the real world from the dream world. This is likely to make the decision-making process feel a bit maddening, and in the end we might just need to flip a coin in order to move forward.
Sun and Moon applying to t-square with Neptune in Pisces' third decan: In case all of that sounded too easy, this decision-making process is further muddied by a conflict with imagination, dreams, illusions, and deceptions. This could make it more difficult to discern the best choice, either by obscuring our ability to see it, or dissolving our will to try.
* I use Austin Coppock's book 36 Faces, an excellent guide to the decans, as a reference for writing these articles, and while I have done my best to convey those ideas in my own way, many of the keywords from that book appear above.
Summary
The need to make a decision between multiple options has reached a critical point.
We've been reviewing the available data--though none of it could be called unbiased--for weeks, and are nearly ready to move forward with what we've learned.
What we've learned is somehow helpful to both sides of a contentious divide--but whether that information helps them come together or merely fuels the fire will likely be on a case-by-case basis.
In order to achieve a goal, we have to make a choice about which of many causes is most worth our limited time and energy.
The tension between the goal and the choice is also in conflict with our dreams, blind spots, and desire to check out of reality. We'll have to take extra care to sort out the facts from our biases and fears.

Can you find a way to communicate with two opposing sides in such a way that brings them closer to a resolution rather than driving them further apart?
Can you find a compromise between your need to accomplish a goal and your need to tune out and relax? Rather than making a lazy choice and sacrificing your dream, see if you can strike a healthy balance between hard work at some times and wholesome transcendence at others.
